Scrappisode V - Discord: Beaten Like a Drum

     Before Scrappisode III - All in the Famiglia was posted we promoted the introduction of Sasha Volkov with the YouTube promo video. We hinted at the possibility of a love between Sasha and Scrappy at the end of the sequence. Development of that aspect  began in Duality; A Tale of Two Scrappy's. (We also started one with Granite and Clementine too.) 

     We thought a quarrel would be a funny highlight in Scrappisode V: Discord; Beaten Like a Drum. It started with a joke seen on The Banana Splits TV show and we built it from there. To this day it is still one of our favorite shows.

     Character development was still the main objective and Dominic the Doberman's credibility as a powerful villain came out in this show. Bullies are the bottom of the totem pole of evil and as such they work best preying on the weakest they can find when they're most defenseless and unsuspecting. And so we attempted to endear the listeners to Scrappy and hopefully cause them to dread Dominic's appearances.

     This show was a lot of fun to do. We hope you enjoy revisiting it with us.

Scrappisode IV - Duality, A Tale of Two Scrappys

     In Scrappisode IV - Duality, A Tale of Two Scrappys, we decided to reveal Sasha's past in more detail to explain her anger and also Granite's genius at inventing revolutionary equipment. Scrappy had completed the 3 Boss tiers in Mafia Wars and received the Golden Fire Hydrant. Granite modified it and surprised Scrappy by demonstrating it's new features. Scrappy could now duck inside it to change into his super hero costume and become Super Scrappy Chihuahua (and vice versa). 

     We also began to hint at possible romances between some of the characters. This show was devoted to more character development. It was also set in Moscow recalling some of the unique features of that city in the Mafia Wars game. Everyone was beginning to get a feel for the flow of the show and the style of the characters they played.

     Here is another video we used in those days to introduce a regular character: that annoying buttinski of a Coon Hound with bad teeth, Spammy Z. He was a brainchild of Cilla Albee. She furnished the rough drafts of his appearance and some of his regular tag lines such as: "Enter your credit card information by clicking here". Oy!

Scrappisode III - All in the Famglia

     In Scrappisode III - All in the Famglia, we introduced 3 brand new characters, Granite, Sasha Volkov and Clementine. And they're all still running with our pack as of this post. 

     Granite was the brainchild of Michael Balk who also voices as the Narrator and Dominic the Doberman. Michael owns 2 Newfoundland dogs and had several great ideas for a friend of Scrappy. One of the key elements was being Scrappy's "top mafia bodyguard" which is a bonus aspect of the Mafia Wars game. He's also Scrappy's butler, highly intelligent and very mechanical. So he invents a lot of things in a timely manner.

     Sasha is a Russian Wolfhound and a Ninja Assassin. We created her character background as a pup sold into slavery by the Soviet government who had trained her how fight and cause others to expire. She was owned and held for a couple of years in Bangkok, Thailand before she finally escaped. In this scrappisode you'll hear her anger and determination to fulfill justice to her far-Eastern owners and her mentors who sold her. Cilla Albee had a lot of fun creating this character.

     While forming a mafia in Cuba Sasha became close friends with a poodle named Clementine. Clem is from the Louisiana swamps where crocodiles are "put down" with a pocket knife and willpower. She won 3 Ultimate Fighting championships and likes to manipulate java code on the internet.

     This show has been one of our favorites not only because of bringing in 3 new exciting characters but also because this is where Scrappy gains super powers that he will need to learn to control later.
